High Risk Premature Baby Follow-Up Clinic
A Special Place for Special Babies
We know that babies who have spent time in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit often need some extra attention once they’ve gone home. We also understand that multiple trips to the clinic with a new baby can be overwhelming. That’s why we offer a High Risk Premature Baby Follow-Up Clinic.
At this special clinic your baby will be seen by a Neonatologist, one who cared for your baby during their stay in the NICU and who is familiar with your family. The Neonatologist will also perform a screening to determine if other health care professionals may need to see your baby.
Following the doctor’s visit, you and your baby will have the opportunity to spend time with professionals from Occupational and Physical Therapy, Dietary, and Case Management as needed. Babies who are on home cardiac or respiratory monitors will also meet with a staff member from the home monitoring agency, who can then replenish supplies, answer questions, and download monitor information for the doctor to review.
The High Risk Premature Baby Follow-Up Clinic is a “Special Place for Special Babies,” and we show you just how special by bringing our experts right to you. It is our hope that this approach will make it easier for you to receive the best and most convenient care for your NICU graduate.
